About the Event
Marianne Williamson will present her work with images at different stages including short videos as she explains her process to reflect movement and light.
Marianne R. Williamson was born in California but grew up in Geneva, Switzerland. She studied art history in Paris and achieved an Art degree from L’Ecole des Beaux Arts in Geneva, Switzerland. She taught in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania for 1 year.
Movement and light are the main themes in Marianne’s work. Her distinctive style incorporates her knowledge of painting and has developed over years of hard work. She uses ice dyed cottons and silks which are raw edge appliqued and, after extensive quilting, the thread border is applied. Some details are painted for a seamless look. Marianne is a Juried Member of Studio Art Quilt Associates (SAQA) and her art has been accepted into Art Quilt Shows all over the world.
